Oath of the Dragonlord#
Paladins who take the Oath of the Dragonlords are the last keepers of the traditions of the ancient order of the Dragonlords, from memorializing the oaths that bind great man and wondrous dragon to struggling for the mortals of Thylea in whatever ways they can. They dream to somehow, someway, discover a new dragon egg and raise the wyrmling within as an equal, to live destinies interlinked like the heroes of old.
These paladins share the following tenets:
Foster the soul bond between you and your dragon as
equals. Increase your wealth and knowledge by righteous means.
Aid your people and avenge them if you must.

Level 3: Dragonlord Memory#
You know the Draconic language. In addition, you can cast the Bond of the Dragonlords spell without Material Components if you are bonding yourself to a dragon. When you cast Dirge of the Dragonlords, the cost for Material Components is half the required amount.
Level 3: Dragon’s Resentment#
As a Magic action, you can expend one use of your Channel Divinity to mimic the repulsion breath of bronze dragons. Each creature of your choice within 15 feet of you must succeed on a Strength saving throw. On a failed save, they have the Prone condition and their Speed is reduced to 0 until the end of their next turn.
Level 3: Dragon Sense#
When you use the Divine Sense option of your Channel Divinity, you also know the location of Dragons, including dragon eggs, within 1 mile of yourself. If you reach character level 5 without having found a dragon egg, your awareness opens further, and you automatically detect the dragon egg closest to you across any distance. In addition, you can communicate telepathically with your Bonded Dragon while it is within 60 feet of you with the Divine Sense option.
Once you discover a dragon egg, refer to appendix J for information on how to hatch it. Then, refer to the Bond of the Dragonlords spell to bond with the hatchling that emerges.
Level 7: Mature Bond#
Your bonded dragon’s initial growth spurt ends. It now uses the Juvenile stat block of the appropriate type.
Mount. As an alternative to the rules for controlling your dragon in the spell Bond of the Dragonlords, you can use your bonded dragon as a Controlled Mount. You can also take a Bonus Action on your turn to command it to take an Action in its stat block or some other action instead of the actions limited to a Controlled Mount.
Warded Mount. When you cast the spell Warding Bond, if your target is a dragon, then the casting time is a Bonus action. In addition, whenever a dragon starts their turn in your Aura of Protection, the dragon gains Temporary Hit Points equal to your Paladin level.
Level 15: Improved Bond#
Your connection with your bonded dragon continues to mature.
Steady Mount. Your bonded dragon loses its Unsteady Mount trait. When you command your bonded dragon to take the Bite action, the dragon can use it twice and add your Proficiency Bonus to the damage.
Breath Master. You can expend a use of your Channel Divinity to recharge one breath weapon of a Dragon within your Aura of Protection (no action required).
Mental Bond. When you communicate telepathically with your Bonded Dragon using Divine Sense it is now possible over any distance, though it can’t extend to other planes of existence.
Level 20: Spiritual Bond#
As a Bonus Action, you forge a spiritual bond with a dragon you are mounted on. This bond lasts for 10 minutes and grants the following benefits.
Draconic Weapon. Your weapon attacks deal an extra 1d8 damage of the same type as the dragon’s breath weapon. Divine Strikes. The dragon can cast the Divine Smite spell by expending your spell slots.
Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a Long Rest. You can also restore your use of it by expending a level 5 spell slot (no action required).
