Habitat: Forest, Swamp; Treasure: Any

With its monstrous size and many fearsome tusks, there is no mistaking the anarch boar for an earthly creature. Anarch boar hunts are often organized to procure a grand sacrifice to the gods, though sometimes they are undertaken for the fame of slaying such a hugely fearsome creature. The anarch boar is dangerous for its amazing strength and deadly tusks, and because it brings madness to its foes. All but the most disciplined parties fall prey to this madness, and many hunters have died at the hands of their fellows.

Mythic Creature#

The anarch boar carries a divine spark. These creatures are neither good nor evil and while they are not unique, mortals rarely catch a glimpse of one. The elusive beasts make their homes in the great forests and plains of both the fey and mortal realms. They are highly intelligent creatures that have the ability to speak.

Primal Blood#

Chaos runs through the blood of an anarch boar. This chaos is the leftovers of the energy used by the gods to create the mortal world. When the skin of an anarch boar is pierced, its blood can lash out in a crimson tendril to hurt its enemies.

Blood of Prophecy#

An anarch boar’s blood is also another reason why they are often hunted. This primal blood has the power of prophecy if it is spilled in a sacred ritual honoring one of the gods. When this is done, the person or group who gives the offering gains a single Charm of the Primal.
