As the heroes are actively trying to solve these world-shattering threats, Lutheria will send allies to strike out against them, forcing them to react. These attacks show the heroes that there is a power responsible for unleashing the Nether Titans upon the world. These villains will use all the powers available to them to make their attacks Succeed. A villain might be able to use Legend Lore to determine the weaknesses of the heroes, then use Scrying to find out where they are and finally Teleport to attack with surprise.

The Draikana#

  • Draikana (appendix B). The draikana is an ancient creature, born at the dawn of time when the gods waged war against the elemental Titans. It is spiteful and malicious, with no grand design and no long-term goals. It only has impulse, mockery, and destruction. For Lutheria, it makes the perfect ally.
There is a sudden burst of noise; the wretched sound of reality itself being ripped apart. The awful sound is followed by a burst of darkness that momentarily envelops everything around you. When the darkness disperses an instant later, you find a strange creature standing before you. A 10-foot-tall toad-like humanoid with golden skin and glowing red eyes. It cackles maniacally and then says: “Lutheria sends her regards.”

The draikana fights until Bloodied, then it will attempt to Planeshift to safety.

The Great Hunter#

  • Young Hyperion (appendix B) known as the Great Hunter, volunteers to track the heroes down and put an end to them. He brings two new allies with him. One is the vengeful spirit of a Shedu (appendix B), unleashed when he hunted and slew a noble lamassu. The other is a

  • Cerberus (appendix B).

Baying can be heard in the distance. Within a few moments you learn its origin. A dark haired titan comes into view. He holds the leash to an enormous three headed hound, the cerberus. Beside him stands a shadowy beast with the head of a man, but the body of a bull. The man speaks. “Brave heroes of Thylea, you have defeated the Nether Titans. Truly we chose our champions well.” The Great Hunter tilts his head in your direction in a subtle nod of gratitude and acknowledgment. But a second later his demeanor takes a sudden, dark turn … “Your part in the story is now done. With the Nether Titans defeated, it is time for us to claim our place as the New Pantheon of Thylea … and time for you to become martyrs to our glorious cause!”

The Great Hunter, the cerberus, and the shedu fight to the death.
