Failure#
If the heroes fail to prevent the Apokalypsis Stone (appendix C) from opening a permanent portal to the Lost Lands of the Yoten, then all is not lost. They must discover a way to destroy the stone and thus close the portal. They might learn how to do this from Versi or Vallus.
The Dragonlords#
If the heroes are victorious, then they are immortalized as the saviors of all the lands of Thylea, and the Dragonlords are remembered forever as the heralds of a new age for mortals and gods alike. This is an appropriate place for your players to retire their heroes and create fresh characters, so that they can take on more mundane challenges once again. When future campaigns take place in Thylea, the heroes from this campaign might be the venerable, beleaguered kings and queens who send young adventurers on quests.
However, before they go into their much-earned retirement, the heroes feel a desire to make one final trip.
The New Pantheon#
The heroes feel a strange pull toward the Golden Heart, as if something ancient and immense has turned its gaze upon them. It is more than instinct, more than curiosity—a summons. The closer they draw to the island’s core, the stronger the urge becomes, until resisting it feels like resisting breath.
When they finally stand before the Heart of Thylea, read:
Each hero may now choose a Domain and the candidate they wish to ascend to that mantle. The chosen candidate must be drawn from the Divine Candidates table. If a hero has fulfilled all necessary requirements to become a god, as described in the appendix D, they may select themselves. In addition, they may choose to keep the Domain vacant.
The domains of Destruction, Life, and Nature cannot be chosen, for they are held by Kentimane, Mytros, and Thylea respectively. If Sydon still lives, then Storm is also unavailable. These are marked with a *. For reasons that should remain mysterious, Dream is also not available.
