Habitat: Desert, Plains; Treasure: Arcana

The shedu is a creature that only comes into existence when a lamassu is killed, releasing the chaotic, hate fueled mind within. It looks like a hulking bull-like creature covered in matted, soot-blackened fur with jagged scars that glow faintly with crimson energy. Its wings are leathery and torn, like those of a demon, and its male face is a mask of fury, with hollow eyes burning like molten embers.

Born of Curses#

The shedu enters the world already steeped in forbidden knowledge. From the instant of its birth, it remembers the ancient curses whispered millennia ago. With but a breath, it can lay blights upon its foes: it can curse a creature so that their bones blaze with searing light, reducing their body to a blinding silhouette of skeleton and shadow. It can cause blood to ignite the moment it touches open air.

Unleashed Fury#

Where the lamassu once guarded the treasures of its lost empire, the shedu has long since abandoned such purpose. Freed from its chains, it has spent centuries unleashing devastation upon the world, its every action a chaotic echo of the hubris that created it.

The Legacy of Hatred#

The shedu roams the land like a plague, seeking nothing but chaos and ruin. Civilization itself becomes its enemy, and the shedu takes perverse satisfaction in toppling kingdoms, shattering relics, and silencing knowledge. It cares nothing for purpose or creation, existing only to destroy, as if its very existence were a curse upon the world.
