Amazons are a warrior culture that exalts individual prowess over the massed ranks of hoplites or the thunder of cavalry charges. Unlike mainland powers that rely on overwhelming force, Amazons trust in the skill, speed, and ferocity of the lone warrior. Most Amazons are found on remote islands or secluded highlands, where boundaries are strictly marked and fiercely defended. Trespassers are met with brutal resistance, and when their territory is threatened, Amazons assemble into swift war parties whose collective battle cries are said to echo for miles, striking terror into even the bravest foes.

Most Amazon huntresses fight alongside a mechanical companion known as a Stimfay. These are avian constructs of bronze and wind-up magic. Huntresses learn to forge and repair these strange creatures from a young age, forging bonds with them as deep as any siblinghood. In battle, an Amazon is a blur of motion, wielding a curved kopis blade in close combat and launching deadly chakrams from afar with uncanny precision.
Amazon society is matriarchal, with women leading, governing, and defending the conclaves. Men are considered the gentler sex and rarely trained as warriors. Exceptions are made, especially when a determined mother chooses to raise her son as a warrior in defiance of tradition or fate.
