Odyssean#

An Odyssean might look like a common soldier, carrying spears and shields like any hoplite, but the weapon they hone the most is their mind. While armies brutishly collide, these Rogues observe and find weaknesses to exploit, traveling far and away in search of the fame that comes with victory. Such harrowing journeys are what gives these soldiers their title, who then return home with the knowledge to turn any battlefield in the favor of their allies.

Level 3: Rogue of Many Ways#

You are rarely outwitted on the field of battle.

Concealed Approach. You can use an Action to stealthily guide your allies’ movement. For the next 10 minutes, each creature of your choice within 30 feet of you has Advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks and leaves no tracks.

Convincing. Whenever you make an ability check using the Deception or Persuasion skills, you can make it as an Intelligence check even if it normally uses a different ability.

Quick Scheme. You can use a Bonus action to quickly devise a clever plan in the heat of battle. One creature within 60 feet of your choice that you can see must make an Intelligence saving throw. The DC equals 8 plus your Intelligence modifier and Proficiency Bonus. On a failed save, you and your allies have Advantage on attacks against that creature until the start of your next turn. This feature cannot be used on the same creature more than once per combat encounter.

Level 3: Vagrant Soldier#

You gain training with Medium Armor and Shields. In addition, Spears and Tridents have the Finesse property for you, and you can choose an additional weapon’s mastery property when you use your Rogue Weapon Mastery feature.

illustrated quote
Odysseans, with spear and shield, do not just clash; they watch, wait, and turn the tides of war with a cunning glance. They find victory in the unseen cracks of battle. —Chondrus, Priest of Lutheria

Level 9: Notorious Trickster#

Your famed cleverness grants you the following benefits.

Anxious Foes. If you use a Cunning Strike option with a melee weapon attack, the target has Disadvantage on its saving throw against that Cunning Strike option.

Vexing Assault. When you attack using a weapon with the Finesse property and whose mastery property you can use, you can replace that property with the Vex property for that attack.

Level 13: Tenacious Survivor#

You’ve survived through enough ordeals through grim determination. You gain the following benefits.

Quick Thinking. You add your Intelligence modifier to Initiative rolls. When you roll Initiative, you may immediately move up to your Speed without provoking Opportunity Attacks. In addition, you can exchange your Initiative roll result with a willing ally within 60 ft.

Steel Resolve. When you are forced to roll a saving throw, you can take a Reaction to gain Advantage on the triggering saving throw. Once you use this feature, you cannot do so again until you finish a Short Rest.

Level 17: Clever as the Gods#

You are constantly aware of opportunities and can even peek into the schemes of the gods. You are constantly under the effects of the Mind Blank spell.

In addition, you gain the following Cunning Strike options.

Expose (Cost: 6d6). Each creature within 30 feet of the target can take a Reaction to make an attack against it.

Disrupt (Cost: 2d6). The target has Disadvantage on the saving throws it makes to maintain Concentration until the end of its next turn, including this attack.
