Circle of the Wyrm#

The Circle of the Wyrm is a secret suborder of the Druids of Oldwoods. Long ago, the silver dragon Balmytria laid a clutch of eggs before going to her death against the Twin Titans. She entrusted the eggs to the druids, and Thylea granted them a vision: guard the clutch until the Unspoken Wake. In time, the druids wondered what pact the dragon and the Mother Goddess had made.

After Balmytria fell, the eggs grew cold. Centuries passed, yet the grove endured. One night, a druid dreamed a dream not his own. Drawn to the hidden chamber, he found an egg cracking. As it broke, the soul of a silver dragon poured into him, seeking refuge. He became the first of the Circle of the Wyrm.

The dragon spirit within is never silent. Its instincts and half memories press against the druid’s thoughts. Many take a sacred rider, an anchor who helps them with their inner struggle. Such bonds can become tragic; for two souls, even bound by oath, can strain a mortal heart.

Level 3: Dragon Soul#

You know the Draconic language. You have Resistance against Cold damage.

You can bring forth the dragon spirit within. When you assume a Wild Shape form, you can choose to take the form of a Hatchling Silver Dragon (see accompanying stat block). Your Silver Dragon form follows all the same rules as the Wild Shape form with the following exceptions:

Wyrmling. You have no Fly Speed. You do not have the Multiattack action.

Level 3: Circle of the Wyrm Spells#

When you reach a Druid level specified in the Circle of the Wyrm Spells table, you thereafter always have the listed spells prepared. In addition, you can cast the spells from this feature while you’re in a Wild Shape form.

Level 6: Sacred Rider#

Your experience better attunes you to your dragon body.

Maturing Wyrm Spirit. You better attune to your dragon body. You no longer have the Wyrmling portion of your Dragon Soul feature.

Natural Partner. In addition, after you finish a Long Rest, you can designate one Medium or smaller creature as your natural partner. This bond lasts until you designate a new creature in this way. While your partner is within 10 feet of you, both of you gain the following benefits:

  • Scales. You have a +1 bonus to AC.

  • Determination. You have Advantage on Constitution saving throws that you make to maintain Concentration.

  • Partnership. When your partner is targeted by an attack roll, you can take a Reaction and force the attack to target you instead.

Level 10: Awakened Legacy#

Your shared draconic soul blooms.

Mature Form. When you assume a Wild Shape form, you can choose to take the form of a Juvenile Silver Dragon (see accompanying stat block). Your Silver Dragon form follows all the same rules as the Wild Shape form.

Enhanced Attacks. When you Wild Shape into a creature with “Silver Dragon” in its name, you can use your spell save DC instead of the DC listed in the stat block and your spell attack modifier instead of the listed attack bonus.

Level 14: Rekindled Breath#

You can expend a level 4+ spell slot to restore all expended uses of your Cold Breath and Paralyzing Breath. This requires no action. When you use your Cold Breath, it deals extra Cold damage equal to your Druid level.
